NIGERIA AT 66: INSPIRING HOPE THROUGH INNOVATION
Harvard Tech College joined in reflecting on Nigeria's journey as the nation marked its 66th Independence Anniversary in October 2026.
Our school celebration provided an opportunity for learners to appreciate Nigeria's cultural heritage, reflect on the country's challenges, and imagine the future they would like to help create.
Activities included spoken-word performance, cultural dance, and student reflections on The Nigeria of My Dream. A special innovation challenge, “Nigeria Has a Problem. We Have an Idea,” encouraged students to think about national challenges and consider creative, practical solutions.
These activities reflected an important principle: young people should not only learn about the world as it is but also develop the confidence and skills to contribute to making it better.
At Harvard Tech College, we want our learners to appreciate their heritage while developing the knowledge, character, and innovative thinking needed to participate responsibly in Nigeria's future.
As we celebrate our nation, we remain hopeful for a Nigeria where education, creativity, integrity, and the potential of young people contribute to meaningful progress.
Happy Independence Anniversary, Nigeria!
